Description
Believers are supposed to hate their parents when they follow Jesus (“If any man come to me, and not hate his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sister, yet, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple” (Luke 14:26). Well, considering that Christians do not abandon their families but usually attempt to brainwash them they are all guilty of not following this verse. “It’s symbolic”, yeah, I know your lame ass defense to this one already.

If humans evolved from monkeys, why do we still have monkeys?
Because species don't evolve. They divide and diverge. As long as version 1.0 can still cope it remains, even if version 2.0 copes better.
Though, of course, we should not forget that the mountain of evidence that supports evolution was just put there by God to 'test our faith'.

Seriously though, that 'test of faith' idea offends me greatly, even though I am an atheist. Because the God that I don't believe is the Good Guy. Not a sneaky, manipulative, liar. So I take offense when these idiots say he is. It's like saying "That Santa Claus - he's just a paedophile, isn't he?"
I'll stop there, before I go off on a rant about why do we call it he...
As a final aside. One symptom of fanaticism I've noticed is total loss of sense of humour. If you don't believe me, try telling a fart joke to a jihadi.
